5x HR Broadcast disconnect

I've replaced my Suunto with the 5x few days ago, so far it's been working great and I'm very happy. I did have problem with HR broadcast disconnected from my Edge 520 at least 4 times during my 5 hours bike ride today. Happened mid ride, not during pause, it just went to home screen without any warning. The 5x and 520 is just a few inches away from each other.
Anyone with the same problem?
  • Hr disconnect with Chronos and edge 25

I've seen the same with Chronos and edge 25, it always seems to drop out after a few minutes.

  • HR Broadcast drops using Fenix 5x and Edge 1000

    Hi,

I am experiencing the same issue, the watch and Edge device pair successfully and seem to work initially, but after a few minutes it stops recording the HR, even though the watch says it is still broadcasting.

I have also found that when I try and start a new ride and I turn on the broadcasting, the Edge picks up the sensor is active, but no HR is shown at all, I have to completely remove the sensor on the Edge device and then re-add it, but it only lasts a few minutes.

It certainly looks like a software bug on one of the devices.

If I use a dedicated Mio Link Heart Rate Wrist Strap it works absolutely fine and has no drop outs, the same goes for a Garmin HR chest strap.

I hope this can be fixed as I was really hoping this would replace the Mio completely, instead of having to wear two devices!

  • I am having exactly the same problem with my Fenix 5x broadcasting to my Edge 1000. This seems to be a problem with the Fenix. I hope Garmin are listening.
