Native Weather not accurate

Why doesn't my fenix 5 weather match my I phone native weather app ?
Not sure how the weather works on watch, I know that it goes off the native phone weather app, but it's usually off. I have tried refreshing the watch , the phone and even done the set time with GPS on watch. It's usually off by as much as 20 degrees sometimes, rarely is it within 5 degrees of what the phone is.

Any idea how I can get a more accurate weather on the watch?

Yeah, it's nearly worthless from what I've seen, honestly :(
I knew that was the case in switching from the Apple Watch to this. Multiple times per day that we step out of our office, checking the temp to know to grab a jacket, gloves, or in the summer if it's just too hot, and not bother going out. My co-worker's Fenix 3 was always so far off he just stopped looking at it and my Apple Watch was a simple flick and look, always correct. My Fenix 5 is the same as his 3 was, WAY off, to the point I could guess, without even looking outside, and be as accurate. I don't understand if it's randomly between 3-12 hrs behind or what the deal is. That's the main thing I wish was better, as well as having it on the main/default screen.

I agree with you, I use it for the same reason . I don't understand that if it goes by the native phone weather app, why does it not show the same temp as the phone ?. It is off by as much as 20 degrees sometimes. It seems something easy to of fix from Garmin side, just make it match the native phone app and everyone would be happy.. I just hate seeing two completely different temperatures when I'm planning an outdoor activity.
  • I "think" the native weather app uses the last GPS location (from watch or maybe phone), and gets the weather from it's own source with Garmin Connect Mobile.

If you go to Settings in GCM, and tap on "Weather" (Android and in the US), there's a message displayed about Canadian Radar, but no indication of the weather data source.
  • Not sure if people resolved this and not sure how iphone might differ from Android. On android, the connect app needs Location permission "Allow all the time". Otherwise, the watch weather widget shows the temperature as of the last time you used the connect app. Once I allowed Location permissions to "Allow all the time" from "Allow only while using the app" the issue was corrected.
