Upgraded from Forerunner 620 to 5 Sapphire and so far very impressed. Glad to have course navigation back since I travel a lot (something I missed since the 305 days – remember that huge block), plus all the other features over the 620.
Wi-fi issues: I've been on four runs, and for each it takes multiple wi-fi sync attempts to get a successful sync. Sometimes it just doesn't connect to the network, but others it will connect and start transferring, but then it fails transfer. The earlier runs were 4-6 miles, but I gave up on today's long run (20.5 miles, 3 hr 10 min duration) after the fourth attempt. I could get it to connect and start transferring, but after a few minutes it gave an alert that the transfer failed. I am syncing in the same room as my router and today I stayed 3’-4’ away. Today's run did sync via Bluetooth while I took a shower. The 620 wasn't the best. Sometimes it did take a few attempts to connect to the network, but once it did I was pretty much guaranteed it would transfer everything. This included syncs that covered a couple of weeks of runs.
Anyone else having wi-fi issues? It's not a make or break feature, but I do expect that for a $700 watch with a version that specifically has this feature it should work.
