We have received reports that some users are having trouble posting or accessing the forums and getting this error. We are working with our internal IT teams as well as directly with vBulletin (the forum provider) to figure out what is causing the error so that it can be resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience.

    Thanks....

I am only guessing, but it only seems to happen when I have "cut and pasted" comments into the body of my post?
  • Well it's a big problem and it needs fixing. Heck I don't even know if this post will post. I have been unable to post or reply to a number of posts. and it's getting tiring. This NEEDS to be fixed ASAP, or it's gonna have a perilous effect on the developer population, garmin apps, even the garmin name...

Anyways, I can't post a question, and I can't post a new "showcase" topic. so I KNOW there must be other people out there who are having similar troubles, meaning this is affecting a LOT of people...

do we need to post more error numbers? I don't even know if I can post this!!!

Trying to post to app showcase I get this...

This is the first time it worked for me, and I have tried replying or posting a new topic about five to ten times and it has failed each and every time... I don't have time to repost and repost and repost and repost and repost to see if this thing is gonna work...

Really! Come on. Let's not get too carried away. The end of the world is not nigh! For heavens sake this is only a peer-to-peer forum. If you really have issues that need attention then the correct path is to Garmin Support.

Garmin have come on here and said they're working on it. So be patient. Somethings do take a little time and of course that will depend on the priority allocated to the task. I would contend that this issue is not necessarily high priority. Even if it has been a shade over 3 weeks. It's not really operationally significant.
  • Well you are right, I'm frustrated and it affects me more than others, but it's a unique problem because for people who cannot post for whatever reason, there's NO count or indication HOW large the problem actually is-- maybe there are a lot more people with this problem, but they just can't post so me and you and Garmin doesn't know it!! I hope the overall average number of postings is around par for before this problem started, and that it doesn't affect a lot of ppl. All I know is there's about a month's worth of frustration packed into that one post of mine, and things don't get fixed unless people complain, and my data field is gonna be pretty difficult to use without supporting instructions, if I can't post them.

    Very respectfully,
  • thanks, so ya it's a forum service which Garmin uses, okay. I wrote them about this issue in their customer service section. Maybe because there doesn't seem to be too many posts on garmin forums it isn't too widespread of a problem, which is good. However I couldn't post so there was no way for me to tell anyone about the problem.. So I hope it's not widespread.

But, for anyone with this problem I would recommend you send the error message number and description to Garmin or https://invisionpower.com/contact-us , so someone knows you're having issues also. I'm not sure many people know about this issue, and it's unfortunate I had to reply to this post outside the connect-iq forum...

I am confident someone will have this fixed, but I shouldn't just be silent. On the other hand, I am sorry for posting this issue because it really doesn't look good and it's bad publicity - I sincerely hope it gets fixed soon! Luckily it is just a peer to peer forum so hopefully no Garmin customers are taken aback...

(((Update for myself this forum worked for my most recent posting, so I am super happy... )))
  • This has been hitting people in the Connect IQ forums for some time, and also hits developers just updating the descriptions of their apps in the app store.

There, someone from Garmin asked that we post the reference numbers we see when we get the error, saying it would help to find/fix the problem, so maybe the same should be done here when ever you get the error (like is said in the post right before mine!)
