Altitude and sunrise/sunset dashed on WatchFace

Bonjour
I have an issue on my Fenix 5X.
All Garmin watchfaces display altitude and sunrise/sunset data
But for all watchfaces coming from Connect IQ. Instead of altitude I have No Data and instead of sunrise/sunset I have dashes
Some esle experiment the same problem?
  • It's not a bug really, it's how CIQ can do some things. for sunrise and sunset, the watchface needs to know your lat/lon, and the way it gets that is from your last activity. Also, that last activity will go "stale" after a period of time. Same for the elevation in many cases.

So, if you see the -- or "no data", you start up an activity that uses GPS and get a fix. then back out of the activity, and the data needed should be refreshed and numbers will display.

A Connect IQ watchface can't get all the data in quite the same way a native watchface can is all.

Do you know how long the "Stale" period is? Also, it boggles my mind why the watch cannot get elevation correct from its sensors. I'm moving over to Garmin from a Suunto and the elevation is always right on, i never have to calibrate it. I am also surprised the watchface cannot get the sunrise/sunset info if you have your phone connect via BT.

I start activities but no change. And again. With watchfaces proposed by the watch the data are displayed. It happened only when I select a watchface found on Connect IQ

It varies based on the type of watch, and not sure on the f5 family. Some watch faces are smart enough to save the last location, so if the current location is stale, it uses the last known, but that's up the developer of that watchface.

You may have to start a recording of the activity, and then discard it. (or maybe just save it and then delete it later). Not sure about that one.
