Map Navigation for Driving

The European 5x version has preloaded routeable maps: cycle map Europe and topo active map Europe (both based on osm map data).

This is probably a dumb question but can the included maps be used to navigate when driving ?
Or are the maps geared more for cycling/running ?

Ive never used a bike computer with maps or anything like that.

It can work imo but as long as there are much better applications on phones its not the best solution

I navigated my car to the local park yesterday with 5x and it works. However too hard to look at tiny screen and drive!!

Cool. Nice to have an alternative if phone battery dies.

Of course you can drive by car, the 5x has an atomobile app, but you should use maps made for driving by car, such as "cn nt road maps", with the preinstalled maps are made for cycling and hiking, so you may not get good courses for driving by car or even routed on small paths, unpaved roadies..

Can someone point out for me where to find the automobile app please

There's no automobile 'app' per-se. You just have to setup an activity with a routing type of automobile I believe. Use sendpoints to submit addresses to your watch. Just Google it, there's a video that explains it.

Yeah, my bad. There is no default automobile app, but you can create one with routing setting automobile...
