Amazing battery life

I have been using the Fenix 3HR for the last few months which had a great battery. I have to say that in the last few days the battery of the 5 is excellent. Without using GPS and with a lot of butting presses for settings, etc. (new watch and all), the battery has only gone down 3-4% per day so far. I didn't think it would be this good, but I am impressed. Have others found the battery to be this good as well?

Mine went down about 5% since 5pm yesterday when fully charged. I, too, did a lot of setting configuration, sync, and etc. (received yesterday). Got two indoor activities on it this AM. It would last the 15-day promoted battery life.

Mine has been off the charger 24 hours now. It's at 81%. I have the default digital display of time with steps, message # and battery % on the main screen. No Connect IQ or custom stuff. I've had dozens of phone alerts, I've done 2 hours of cycling, with GPS, heart rate, and an external power meter. I've also done an hour of running.

I cycle 10 hrs and run 4 hrs a week. In a perfect scenario, it will last a week for me, and it looks like it might pull it off!

To compare, it appears to be getting around 4X the battery life of my Apple Watch Series 2, 42mm. However, during cycling, the Apple Watch uses the phone's GPS and BLE to connect to the power meter. ALL of the Androids I've tested (I've tested them all lol) are even less than the Apple Watch, with my activity level and usage. Yes, that includes the LG Sport Watch with LTE turned off and Polar M600.
  • I charged mine fully last Thursday just after I received it. I've been playing with it loads, activity tracking enabled, bluetooth'ed to my phone for notifications sync etc, admittedly only an hour of GPS activity (too busy at work and been away) but I'm still on 70% charge. Can't complain at all.
  • Im seeing about 5% battery drain per hour with GLONASS, 1sec,BT,Act tracking on...Pretty awesome. About 2% per hour or less in ultra trac mode. Ultra trac has been within .01 miles off true distance as well! Bravo F5!!

That's great news! Seems that it's on par with Garmin's 2 week claim! It can only go up from there with updates - can't wait for mine.
  • Got mine on Saturday. Charged it. Played with it all day, constant notifications popping up from texts and Messenger. Went for a 10 mile run at 8:30min mile pace using both GPS + GONAS on Sunday. Never been off my wrist since and again constantly playing with it, showing people the screens and settings. Constant notifications every day and the battery is still of 75%!!!!!!! .....amazing!!

...although it does take a lot longer to charge than my 630 did :)
  • Another thing I've noticed is that when the F5 loses connection to my phone, either due to proximity or BT pairing probs with my phone (after connecting it to a hire car), it doesn't suffer the dramatic battery drain the F3 did.

71% since Monday @ 2pm with 1 hour 5 minutes of running, so far, with smart notifications, enabled, and 50% backlight.

I'm planning on letting it go until 0% to get a general idea for battery life.
  • Sounds promising! Any feedback from 5S owners if battery life can live up to its specs?

Thank you, didn't even know you coulda just the backlight. I just bumped mine up to 50% from the default 20%. I like a nice bright screen at night :)
