Looking to see if anyone has received their F5 from REI? I know they have limited to no stock at the store but you can order online. Just not sure if anyone has received one they pre-ordered or just ordered recently.
I purchased mine from REI, in store, earlier this week. I checked stock online, saw that my local store had some and called in to reserve one. That one ended up being wonky with GPS, so I exchanged for another and it's really, really good.

What made you think the GPS was being wonky? I've been getting some awful tracks from mine so I'm wondering if mine is wonky too?
The second one tracks much more closely to the PCT which I never deviated from except for the part at the end. Does this look reasonable or should it track even tighter?
I just got my Fenix 5 from REI and I plan on returning it for the 935 because this watch it just too heavy and bulky for running and sleep tracking. I tend to sleep on my side with my hands up near or on my head and I felt the body of the watch and strap on my cheek.... was even a little concerned I might wake up with marks on my face. I went for a run this morning and I could feel it swing back and forth on my wrist. I never even noticed my Garmin 235... it was like an invisible watch. Hopefully the Garmin 935, which is about half the weight and a little less bulky, will be closer to the 235 in that regard. Besides that, it's a totally awesome watch with amazing functions.
And onto the topic of return purchases: People always seem to forget REI isn't a "big company", it's a cooperative. And as a member and part owner of the cooperative, you are entitled to use the return policy if you are anything less than 100% satisfied. That generous hassle free return policy is very much the reason why REI is so profitable. And this is why I got my Fenix 5 at REI.
