I just got off a chat with an REI rep that said March 30th is the next batch (right now it says "Available within 30 days").

Yeap - I had ordered a 5s Silver the day it became available on REI.com and a Fenix 5 slate/black a couple days later. Received my 5 yesterday but still no ETA on the Silver 5s. Yes I also love them for the 10% Member cashback and the 1-year return policy.

Ordered a grey/black F5 online at REI.com on 3/16 3:30pm -> Shipped to SoHo store, picked up Monday at 12pm.
Very few stores have them in stock. So far so good, still recovering from the NYC half on Sunday so haven't had a chance to actually test it out on a run.
Ordered F5 Sapphire from REI Friday the 17th, was shipped yesterday and arrives tomorrow. Will return Paragon Sports order that showed today - the REI return policy and dividend is worth the tax charge and extra day of waiting.

Yes. The dividend makes it a better deal. If I have any issues over the next year I can stop by the the local store 10 min from my work and take care of it there.

I think he meant the ethics of it. For those that order a couple or more watches and then are reselling the ones they don't want or need I get it, but buying a perfectly good $600-700+ watch from a store only to ship it back to them to get a better deal a day or two later with the original store unable to resell it as new is pretty harmful to the store. Big companies like Amazon, REI etc. can handle the hit I suppose but a place like Paragon who gets it to you on super short notice only for buyers to turn around and send it back just ensures that there will be less "Paragons" around next year.
I understand this is a matter of opinion and I'm not trying to be someones mother but someone has to say something before all the mom and pop shops are gone.
I am all for returning something for a refund if it's defective but..........
I had 2ea fenix 5's. One a slate gray non sapphire and a 5 sapphire. I decided to keep the sapphire version and could have returned the slate gray for a full refund but that would not be fair to the retailer who did nothing wrong, shipped it quickly and covered their end of the bargain. There was nothing wrong with it all other than I decided I didn't want it..
I sold it to a friend at a loss to myself of about $50 total.. That's the roll of the dice risk I took full well knowing I was going to loose $$$$ by selling the one I decided to not keep..
Sadly, this return fraud effects us all as retailers either raise their prices and / or have stricter returns that then effect legitimate returns.. Restocking fees, shorter return times ect...
Meh, it is what it is.. Back to the topic at hand and I'll bow out of this one now..
