Fenix 5/5s performance benchmark (compared to 735xt)?

One of the reasons for me to move from the 235 to a 735XT was the increased hardware performance, responsiveness was just way better (starting activities, switching screens, etc).

As I am wondering how the Fenix 5/5s hardware performs versus the 735xt I was wondering if anyone is willing to post the results from this connectIQ app:

Connect IQ benchmark from Navicom

https://apps.garmin.com/nl-NL/apps/7d836871-cf67-4963-b56b-1d81a7808ba0#0

The 235 scores a 0.5/9.9 while the 735xt scores 5.5/19.9... Very interested in 5/5s scores.
  • An update to the Tree Benchmark with f5s/f5/f5x support was also posted last night, and there are numbers for the f5x posted in that forum.

Ah, thanks! I see lower scores there unfortunately. Could be a result of increased resolutions with the same hw as the 735xt... Was hoping for improved performance.

My F5 running v2.40 scores 4.7/16.4 so less than the 735XT, odd, will restart it just in case.

EDIT - no change, actually yes 4.7/15.9 then 4.7/15.4 then 4.7/16.1 maybe the increased 240x240 resolution take a "toll" ?

    Thanks! Much appreciated :)

I guess so as well, still that's no biggie as long as the watch is responsive enough. From the 235 to 735xt the improvement was really clear, but can't imagine that much will be noticable from the 735 to another as the 735 responds (almost) instantly anyway.

So as long as the F5 response and operability is fine, it's just a number ;)

It would be interesting to see how the f5S does on the benchmark, as it's got the same processor but the smaller display.
  • Yes the FR235 can lag a bit but honestly it's never come in the way of usability, the F5 doesn't lag at all.
  • FlipStone, what watch face are you using with your 735xt? I have nofrills and it is nice but something see some lag.

    Thanks! Much appreciated :)

I now use the line watchface, simple but elegant imo :)
