Kickr won't re-connect automatically

I have a Fenix 3 and now a Fenix 5x - both are paired with (and connect to) my Wahoo Kickr. However, if I do not start an activity the 5x loses the connection to the Kickr, and in order to connect I have to connect manually from the menu. This doesn't happen with the Fenix 3 - connection is never lost, and if I leave the room and come back it picks up and connects to the Kickr right away. The 5x says it's searching for the Kickr, but won't connect until I hit the connect button. This doesn't happen with any of my other sensors (HRM, Speed/Cadence sensors).

Anyone else seen anything similar?

Must be just me then :-)

The point is it doesn't happen with my Fenix 3, which connects automatically whenever I get close enough. My 5x just stays at "Searching" - I always have to connect manually. Is there a setting I've overlooked?
  • Hopefully not an issue

I don't have my F5x yet so I hope this isn't a widespread issue with Kickr connectivity. I'll reply I get mine and see if it works.

Is it possible that the Kickr only automatically likes to connect to one device only and the F3 is it. I wonder what would happen if you unpaired the kicker from the F3 and see what happens. I have a kickr and an F3 and all is fine. At some point soon I will probably get the 5x so I am hopeful that this issue is resolved. Good luck.

I have tried with just the F5 in the room and it makes no difference. Was wondering if is anything to do with Kickr also having bluetooth connection? When I search the F5 finds 2 power sensors for Kickr - Ant and Bluetooth. Will try connecting via bluetooth instead and see if that makes any difference.

Connected with bluetooth and it does the same - the 5x won't automatically connect. It doesn't lose connection once I have manually connected - just will not connect automatically to Kickr power. It does connect automatically to all other Ant+ sensors (including the Kickr Speed sensor).

Turns out it was a wireless access point in the same room - once I turned that off the 5x now connects automatically to Kickr power. My Fenix 3 is not affected, but the 5x will not connect automatically when the access point is on (although it will connect manually).
