Why is the colour of the RUN layout changes at random?

Hi there,

Just now during a run, I experienced a peculiar problem which I hope to understand how it works.

You see, I set the clock layout during the RUN activity to be with 4 Data Fields.

The timeout setting is 30 seconds. Gesture = ON

I did not set the timeout = "No timeout during activity" as suggested by some as I do not want it to light up during the whole run.

So when I ran, I turned my wrist to look at readings, the backlight is on with background color is white and fonts colour is black. But as I continue the run, I turned my wrist again to look at my watch, this time the colour is opposite, with background color is black and fonts colour.

It seemed that the color of the background and fonts is random.

Anyone knows where is the settings to setup these color and to fix it so that it is not random (and to enable us to control the color)

Thanks
  • It sounds like you have the Auto Climb setting On in your Run app settings, that will switch to a different screen (default is white text on black) when the watch detects that you are running above the set incline grade.
  • Not sure about the f5, but on some garmin devices, the colors will change at sunrise/sunset.

    Yes Crispin,

You are correct, I just checked.

My Auto Climb un the RUN activity setting is set to ON with 600m/h and Invert Colour was also set to ON. These are all default settings in my face which I didn't touch any of these settings

What does Fenix 5 do with auto climb ? what does the the vertical speed of 600m/h means ?

Also, what does Invert Colour do when you set it to ON ?

Apologies if the questions are too elementary ...

    Thanks again

    Cheers
