Third party straps for the Fenix 5 ?

Early days of course but sometimes third parties are ready before the actual device is available !

So of course the QuickFit system is great but :
- Garmin's pricing is outrageous at €42 for Silicone bands, €67 for leather and €167 for metal !
- Third parties may not be able to produce QuickFit bands that are as sturdy/reliable...

So I for one would be happy to use a couple of screwdrivers if that means getting an extra band like those you can get for the FR235/FR735, etc...for €8 (or less) if I can buy one for €10 ;-)

I actually was able to slap on a VAHR strap I had handy and of course it doesn't look great but when doing that I found out that the "pins" are very wide (probably for QuickFit) and it's unlikely that there are too many 22mm straps out there that could accommodate them.

Anyway let the hunt begin !

Yes I am looking to buy 1 metal strap and 1 leather strap but they are way too expensive ...

I am waiting for 3rd parties leather straps and metal straps to be out...

please post the link here if anyone knows where we can purchase it online

Thanks WEBVAN but this is for Samsung Gear with modification may work for Fenix 5.

But I shall wait for one that is specifically made for Fenix 5 .... :)

Yes the width is right but it might be difficult to insert in the wide "pins" of the F5.

Actually, I am surprised that by now there is still no 3rd straps for F5 ...

Yes the width is right but it might be difficult to insert in the wide "pins" of the F5.

If it is a rubber or silicone band, use liquid soap, like dishwashing soap, worked a charm for me with a 3rd party silicone strap and f5s

Yes that would help no doubt if the pin is too wide for the strap. No such problem with the 26mm F3 band I got and "tweaked" to put on the F5 using the idea in the thread I linked above. It's a quick job with a box cutter and what's nice is that it "wraps" around the lugs and gives it a "beefier" feel than the narrow 22mm strap of the F5 :

I am wondering if its possible to buy normal 22mm leather band and put that one to Fenix 5. Does Fenix have normal torx system that you can put 3rd party straps for it. I dont mind loose 3 min. sometimes if I can save 50 euros.

Of course it is possible. I have several custom 3rd party bands for my f5s, with my leather band being my favourite.
