How come now my Distance Travelled is Zero ?

Hi there,

I am using a watch face that can display Steps and Distance Travelled.

My steps is displayed as 5000 steps. In GCM Snapshots, my steps is also 5000. In GCN My Day, My Steps is also 5000.

Question 1:
How come is my Distance Travelled displayed as 0.0 KM on my watch face ?

Question 2:
How to check my Distance Travelled in GCM or in the watch itself if I choose a watch face without distance travelled ?

Thanks

It may be that you've got your stride length set to zero, or for some reason it's done this automatically for you. Check (in GCM) More>Garmin Devices>fenix 5>User Settings>Custom Stride Length
  • In GCM, if you go to "Activity Stats>steps" , tap on a day, and you'll see your distance for that day. When you say 5000, are you sure you're not looking at your step goal, and not the actual steps so far?

    Thanks NeilJonesOnline.

My problem is not the Custom Stride Length because if I use other watchface, it is able to correctly display the Distance Travelled.

For this particular watchface in question, it was able to display correctly until recently, when other watchface was at 3.3KM, this watchface in question is 0.

Just an update, I later on did a sync again. Other watchface is other 10Km, while this particular watchface is 3.3KM.

Seemed like it is always behind ...

    Any tips ?

    Thanks

Yes thanks Jim. I saw the Distance now ... cheers

Sure, it is the actual steps with another number as the step goal.

Just realised, the distance would also be displayed by going to Activity Stats > My Day and then tap on it ...

Thing is, would it be possible to display the distance field on the Activity Stats > My Day itself without doing a tapping ?

    Thanks

Lost the long version of this due to the forum problem, but in short, if both watches are on the same account, with TrueUp, they may only be the same right after they both sync. I have two on the same account, but only wear one at a time BTW, as I don't know if wearing both maybe double some data.

With two on the same account, you could see that each watch is different, and both are different than what you see in GCM, until both watches sync at the same time.

    Thanks Jim,

For my case, I am using the same 1 account on same 1 watch (ie on F5).

I was referring to changing watchfaces within the same watch,

    Thanks & cheers
  • Which watchfaces? It could be a bug due to the port to the f5. They're all really getting their first test on the f5 with the devices just starting to ship. :)

I do not remember the name of the watchface but I can show you the image, it looks like this:

I set the data on the left to distance.

    Thanks

P/S: On a separate note, I am been wanting to know this, what does Baro with arrow pointing to the right means ? Thanks
  • The left is the baro, and the arrow means that the air pressure (adjusted for sea level) is flat. No cold/warm fronts coming though, for example. It will point up when the pressure is rising, and down when it's falling.

Is that a watchface that came with the watch or one from the app store? I know someone did do a ciq watchfaces that looks just like a native one. If the seconds show all the time, it's a native one.
