Firmware release V2.40 found bugs to be squashed

Seems like there are a few bugs I have experience and seen here as well.

1. Vibration alert setting has its own life... EVERY time you sync - Vibration alarm setting is turned off.
2. EPO file reports expired in System/About menu. (EPO files helps GPS get fast lock) maybe only display issue - or maybe it really does not work
3. [Added 19/03] - huge issues with stairs - My 3HR counted more up than down. On the 5X it is the other way. My 3HR was reasonably right and about 1 set of stair climbs out in a day (so about 5-8%) where the 5X shows about 30-40% too few stairs climbed.
4. [Added 19/03] - Compass Crash when adding maps?
5. [Added 19/03] - Basecamp Export track crashes 5X so only full reset brings it back.

Any others?

I did a small walk, then paused and clicked "resume later" then I resumed the activity but it's not showing the second half in my profile.

Same issue here (but on a f5). It appears fine on base camp but on syncing to GC only the first half is recorded.

    Backlight

I've turned the backlight off so fully manual with no timeout, so I can keep this on when running at night without a timeout. However whenever I start an activity the backlight turns on, so you have to remember to turn if off.

Is this an issue or missed a setting?

Mine has a definite problem when pausing the hike, clicking "resume later", and then resuming after a few minutes. Can someone please try walking a short distance (about a mile) pausing for 15 minutes, clicking resume later and then resuming?

In one walk, the latter part of the walk was completely missing. In another, the latter part has severe GPS skips i.e. there'll be a straight line from one point to another as if I were a bird flying over buildings.
  • Vibration alert - fixed

I saw in another thread in the fenix 5/5S forum that someone reported that the vibration alert turning itself off is fixed after a factory reset. I can confirm this too. I had to do a factory reset to fix a Strava Live Segments problem, and after doing so have found that my vibration alert now works. I can sync and this no longer turns off the vibration alert!
  • Although other people are reporting it is fixed so maybe Garmin did something at their end and the factory reset was a coincidence.

Have you tried to replicate this fault and what happened? I've yet to get the resume later function working correctly.
  • Vibration alert is working for me now.

I think Garmin have fixed the SYNC file for the Fenix - so it does not write the vibrate field wrong. It suddenly just started for me without doing any software updates. So probably an XML bug somewhere in Garmin Connect :) that could be fixed remote.

    Spell Search

    FW: 2.40, Display: 2.10.
    ----------------------------
Navigate -> PoI -> Cities -> Spell Search -> any name -> Select Map => crash
  • Two structured workout bugs:

    1. Auto-lap is not disabled during a workout downloaded from Garmin Connect. It doesn't interfere with the workout like it does on the Epix, or like it did when this behavior happened during the fenix 3 beta program, but there's really no reason for it to be enabled at all, and it is not enabled on any other Garmin device.

    2. Heart-rate based alerts do not work during a workout downloaded from Garmin Connect. When I set up a workout step with a custom heart rate zone, say 60-140bpm, the step displays the limits for a short period of time but there is no alert when you go outside the zone.
