I know it's early days, but does anyone yet know how the F5 deals with steps during an activity, or whether it's possible to automatically stop it step counting during an activity?
I want to use mine 24/7 as an activity tracker, but I know that with other Garmin activity trackers if I wear it during cycling it will also say I've taken a few hundred steps during my rides. Some people argue that this is deliberate and it's a type of "unit of effort" rather than steps but I don't go along with that as (a) Garmin specifically refer to it as steps and (b) depending on the type of surfaces I'm cycling on, I can get anything from 50-1000 steps recorded over an hour's ride.
I'd really like to have the option within each activity to ignore any steps detected during that activity, but I can't see anything in the manual that suggests this is possible.
