fenix 5 has arrived!

Fenix 5 in hand…

It arrived today and I will take it out on it’s 1st journey tomorrow.. I mainly cycle but also run and swim for triathlon training..

I already sold and shipped off my fenix 3HR so I won’t be able to provide any comparison shots. This is the Slate Gray with Black band version.

The watch is smaller and lighter than the 3HR and it feels good on the wrist. The HR bump is noticeably less. After initial boot and setup, the watch acquired GPS signal fairly fast. The new menu system is pretty slick but I haven't really has much time to dive in..

Just a quick post for now with some box and unboxing shots.. Tomorrow I’ll be doing a 38 mile bike ride and I’ll compare it’s stats against my Edge 520...

I had 3 preorders in..

This one, the Slate Gray was a preorder from HRM.com.. I had one on preorder for a 5 sapphire from Clever Training that I cancelled after this one shipped and I have one preorder still in @ B&H for a 5 sapphire that is suppose to ship on Thursday..

It feels tiny compared to my 3HR.. I can only imagine how tiny the 5S would feel / look...

I love the bulky feel of the 3HR hope it has some beef to it still. I am exicted to see the menu structure as well

My only complaint so far is the length of the charging cord... C'Mon Garmin, would it have killed ya to make the charging cable a little longer?

Screen is more readable (font wise) than my 3HR was and the backlight appears to be brighter, maybe....

Same here and NO it does not have the same bulky / hefty feel....

I was hoping to hear this. I am 43 and unfortunately I have some transition bifocals and the 3 sometimes is hard to read with certain watchfaces. I am stoked
