Feature Request: Disable Button Presses or add "Lock Screen Mode" during an activity

I know there is an option to Turn on/off the Lap Key within a specific activity, but how about a way to require more than one button press in order to prevent accidentally stopping an activity. I mean, isn't this why the Lap & Start/Stop buttons are on the face of of the 920XT instead of the sides like on the Fenix series?

With all this cold weather, I noticed that when cycling, my gloves occasionally stop my watch. Nothing worse than almost finishing a century ride and looking down and only seeing the time of day :(

What's everyone else doing?
  • I reckon you can access the controls menu whilst in an activity and lock the device from there.

If I want lock the watch during my workouts, I simply hold the top left button for a few seconds and there is a lock device option. that still shows all the data screens etc but you cant press any buttons. You then long press the top left to unlock

DUH just reread your question. I guess my solution doesnt pretain to laps etc sorry

+1 This happened to me during boxing training often with the 235
  • The lock functionality has been broken on the F3 and Vivoactive for a long time as it unlocks from any button push

In the past just like lock was a two step deal so was unlock making and accident unlikely
  • It seems to have been un-broken in beta 5.83. I have lock keys on the down/start hotkey combination. Locked it earlier today, tried to unlock it by holding down, and the screen informed me I needed to hold the hotkey to unlock. This is a real improvement in UI, it'll make it much harder to unlock by accident if you are using one of the two-key combinations.
  • A hidden enhancement in 5.83 that I hadn't spotted. Thanks for pointing it out :)
