I was happy with my 405, then the 410, then maybe 605, 610, F2, now F3. F3 works for the most part. Its crashed on me. Its locked up on me. But I still like it. It does much more than I need, but I can live with that. the 5x does even more than I need. But I dont know if I'd like maps or not. But I do like the idea of more memory and faster processor. That spells future proof usually. I might not like mapping. Ok. so I may not use it. I might not like the OHRM, though I hope it works. If not. So be it. I really really hope it wont lock up during my next 50miler, 100k or 100miler. That really blows. It blows that I cant charge it while its on my wrist. But eh... I can hold it while charging, or faster it to my pack. Ultras are hard, holding a while during recharge. Cake. I'm excited. I'm prepping my F3 for resale, hoping to reduce the chunk the F5x is setting me back. But my preorder is in.

  • I just called CT to report the stolen CC issues. So far I've counted 5 people just in this thread from the 5x pre-order. I suggest anyone who has ordered from CT go through their CC bill to see if there're any fraudulent charges in the past month or 2.

    Count me in, fraud on my acct days after pre-ordering a Fenix 5. Ordered on 2/22.
  • Well I just got an email from CT saying my preorder (which I had actually cancelled about a month ago) was ready to ship and my credit card information needed to be updated (obviously, because the original card had been cancelled by my bank). I called their CS line and told them about the fraud incidences I experienced as well as this thread. The response wasn't particularly satisfying, but they said they had looked things over and "hadn't found anything."

    More concerning, they wouldn't take a different card number over the phone and insisted that I store the card on my account on their website. I did so, and we'll see what happens (both as far as my fenix 5x shipping and any future fraud).

  • I had to replace my credit card back in January after around the time I placed my pre order for the 5x at CT. Got a fraudulent alert charge for USPS ship and click, 12 transactions. I cancelled my 5x order from CT a few days ago and removed my credit card info on their site.

    When did you order? I ordered on 1/4 and still have not been charged my order still shows pre-order. I did order the 5x with metal band though.

    Interesting - I still have yet to see any posts about getting a shipment notification from anyone who ordered a 5X from CT after 1/4. Those 105 units mentioned in their last e-mail must not have included many 5Xs, metal bands or otherwise.

    I was under the impression that CT didn't charge the card until stock was in hand.
