Has it shipped yet. Has it shipped yet. Has it shipped yet.

Just like an aggravating, but anxious kid.

I was happy with my 405, then the 410, then maybe 605, 610, F2, now F3. F3 works for the most part. Its crashed on me. Its locked up on me. But I still like it. It does much more than I need, but I can live with that. the 5x does even more than I need. But I dont know if I'd like maps or not. But I do like the idea of more memory and faster processor. That spells future proof usually. I might not like mapping. Ok. so I may not use it. I might not like the OHRM, though I hope it works. If not. So be it. I really really hope it wont lock up during my next 50miler, 100k or 100miler. That really blows. It blows that I cant charge it while its on my wrist. But eh... I can hold it while charging, or faster it to my pack. Ultras are hard, holding a while during recharge. Cake. I'm excited. I'm prepping my F3 for resale, hoping to reduce the chunk the F5x is setting me back. But my preorder is in.

Peace!

Is it typical that smaller shops ship before Garm.com & Amazon.com - and I guess from quick searches, places like Best Buy, etc?
  • PS: Incidentally - my CC was also stolen (within days of this order) and I had to supply the new account. Any other CT customers had similar issues?

Mine too, immediately after placing the preorder with CT.
  • cc stolen

OK this is getting strange.... The CC(number) I used for Fenix 5X preorder from CT was stolen too and there has been unauthorized charges to the card recently. I just added another number. maybe we should let CT know about this. For me the charges started with lyft rides I didn't take & fast foods restaurants...

It really depends on the company and the item in question, not to mention if the demand for it is high (or expected). Asus for example as a company can't churn out monitors for the life of them and the demand can get high for some models. Brick and Mortar stores tend to be really late to the game as well. My local Best Buy (and really all of them in the confines of urbania) Haven't even heard of the Tom-Tom adventure watch for example....yet carry models from 1-3 years ago still. Same goes for Polar (i've yet to see a M600 on a shelf, either with the sport watches or with the smartwatches). I think Fitbit and maybe Garmin get into the store faster...with the former being nearly on the shelves day one and the latter a few months after initial sales. I said it in a prior post here, a local shop had a few of the 5's (all models) in stock already; just not for sale. But they were willing to let me buy it if I wanted.

Still I'd go with online ordering. Maybe not CT as some above me have stated.

Me too. I didn't put it together, but the debit card I used for the order was also used for >$5000 worth of fraudulent charges. Had to cancel the card and go through the whole deal to correct it. I pre-ordered from CT in mid February and this just happened a few days ago (since cancelled my pre-order for other reasons). This is very interesting. I'm not too sure if there is a correlation just yet, but it is suspicious.

Now you guys have me looking through my old credit card statements more closely.
  • The odds of two people having their cards stolen in a given period of time who ALSO shopped at a given merchant is in fact quite high.

However, it gets FAR less likely the more people have it happen during that same period of time. Two, not surprised. Three, meh. Four, five, six? My eyebrows go up.

Oh, and I've done cybersecurity for 20+ years.... make of that what you will.

you should there are too many people with the same situation for it to be coincidence. This isn't my first order from CT and my order will remain but this is a bit troublesome.
