Just like an aggravating, but anxious kid.

I was happy with my 405, then the 410, then maybe 605, 610, F2, now F3. F3 works for the most part. Its crashed on me. Its locked up on me. But I still like it. It does much more than I need, but I can live with that. the 5x does even more than I need. But I dont know if I'd like maps or not. But I do like the idea of more memory and faster processor. That spells future proof usually. I might not like mapping. Ok. so I may not use it. I might not like the OHRM, though I hope it works. If not. So be it. I really really hope it wont lock up during my next 50miler, 100k or 100miler. That really blows. It blows that I cant charge it while its on my wrist. But eh... I can hold it while charging, or faster it to my pack. Ultras are hard, holding a while during recharge. Cake. I'm excited. I'm prepping my F3 for resale, hoping to reduce the chunk the F5x is setting me back. But my preorder is in.

Placed order January 4th from Clever Training, cancelled yesterday and decided to Order from REI (backordered) and use by $250 dollars worth of dividends. Hoping to receive the Fenix 5x in a few weeks.

I had an e-mail exchange today with a really helpful rep from Clever Training. According to the e-mail that I got (Tuesday afternoon EDT), they still haven't received the shipment they were expecting early this week. The rep said they expected that shipment "any day now" but they didn't know exactly how many units they'll be receiving when it comes.

I didn't order on January 4 like many of you. The rep seemed to suggest (without saying for sure one way or another) that my order placed on January 14 would not be fulfilled from this initial shipment, but would be fulfilled from the next shipment (without specifying when that might be). So for all of you who ordered a 5X from CT on January 4 or shortly thereafter, this sounds like good news for you - they are expecting a shipment soon that will enable them to fulfill most of their early preorders. If that's all true (admittedly a big if given that they aren't sure about the number of units they'll receive and the exact date of receipt), then it might be worth holding on to your CT order rather than canceling and trying Amazon, REI or some other retailer.

In any event, CT seems to send out their update e-mails on Wednesdays, so perhaps we'll get a more official statement tomorrow from them on where things stand.

Anybody that ordered it from REI have it shipped to the store and get a tracking number? I'm wondering if they don't come when shipped to the store since I'm supposed to get it tomorrow and no updates yet..

My 5x arrived today from Amazon US. Ordered on January 4. Came loaded with 2.20 firmware and took some effort to have Garmin Express pull the update to 2.40.

What maps would it come with built in. China/HK ?

US maps, if you read the blurb. They also just put their prices up. Better deals elsewhere!

Apparently (I have confirmed this with two retailers now) stock for Australia has been pushed back approx. another 6 weeks. While one or two retailers may get some stock later next week, it is likely not to be enough to satisfy even a small percentage of pre-orders.

I was told the 12th April. Guess it should have been the 1st :(

I got an email when it shipped to the store and when it arrived at the store. No tracking info though.

IDK how REI works in terms of ordering from other stores.

but as of last night at 8pm, the REI in Rockville MD had an F5X in stock (I cancelled my order and went with the 5)
