Has it shipped yet. Has it shipped yet. Has it shipped yet.

Just like an aggravating, but anxious kid.

I was happy with my 405, then the 410, then maybe 605, 610, F2, now F3. F3 works for the most part. Its crashed on me. Its locked up on me. But I still like it. It does much more than I need, but I can live with that. the 5x does even more than I need. But I dont know if I'd like maps or not. But I do like the idea of more memory and faster processor. That spells future proof usually. I might not like mapping. Ok. so I may not use it. I might not like the OHRM, though I hope it works. If not. So be it. I really really hope it wont lock up during my next 50miler, 100k or 100miler. That really blows. It blows that I cant charge it while its on my wrist. But eh... I can hold it while charging, or faster it to my pack. Ultras are hard, holding a while during recharge. Cake. I'm excited. I'm prepping my F3 for resale, hoping to reduce the chunk the F5x is setting me back. But my preorder is in.

Peace!

    Balle games

Sorry if this was asked before. What is the color of the second band with the 5x?

According to the "in the box" sections of Garmin's website, the sapphire versions of the 5 and 5S include an extra silicone band. The 5X, however, is not listed as including an extra band unless you buy the metal band version. As I recall, Ray Maker confirmed this in one of his videos.

Thanks! Guess I will have to get the Yellow Band on the side!

Do you longtime Garmin / Amazon patrons think Amazon pre-orders will ship soon?
  • Placed order January 4th from Clever Training, cancelled yesterday and decided to Order from REI (backordered) and use by $250 dollars worth of dividends. Hoping to receive the Fenix 5x in a few weeks.

Mine said once (but now has disappeared from the order) that mine is heading out april 5th. Could be sooner, most likely though it will be later. Local store near mean had all three watches in house, just not for sale. They were willing to sell me one right away....but the return policy at REI man, such a deal breaker for me.

Did the same canceled my Fenix 5X metal Jan 4th order through CT and went with REI. They only had the standard silicone band 5X in stock so I just ordered that one and figured I could order a metal band when they are available. REI website still shows the standard band Fenix 5X in stock, they must have received a good supply :)
  • Showing out of stock now.... they've gone in and out a couple of times -- they're getting 'em regularly, but they're also selling 'em fast (no idea how many they get in at once, of course.)

I gave up on Amazon. Usually they are on top of it with preorders, but I've never preordered a Garmin product with them before.
  • Possible reason for delay in pre-order availability?

Amazon, REI, CT, some spots in the UK, etc -- all have some pre-order availability...even showing shipping dates...?

While Garmin's website currently still shows "Estimated availability is 3-5 weeks" and has no "Buy" button, just a spot to enter an email address and the text says "Email me when this product is available"

Could it be these other sites are opening pre-orders prematurely, and things won't really start flowing until after 5x is shipping direct from Garmin?
