Just like an aggravating, but anxious kid.

I was happy with my 405, then the 410, then maybe 605, 610, F2, now F3. F3 works for the most part. Its crashed on me. Its locked up on me. But I still like it. It does much more than I need, but I can live with that. the 5x does even more than I need. But I dont know if I'd like maps or not. But I do like the idea of more memory and faster processor. That spells future proof usually. I might not like mapping. Ok. so I may not use it. I might not like the OHRM, though I hope it works. If not. So be it. I really really hope it wont lock up during my next 50miler, 100k or 100miler. That really blows. It blows that I cant charge it while its on my wrist. But eh... I can hold it while charging, or faster it to my pack. Ultras are hard, holding a while during recharge. Cake. I'm excited. I'm prepping my F3 for resale, hoping to reduce the chunk the F5x is setting me back. But my preorder is in.

Peace!
  • The tracking looks average but the heart rate graph doesn't look right at all.

I had the watch strapped to my handlebar, so there shouldn't be any heartrate data. Didn't even realize it was there. I guess there is a way to turn HR off manually though.
  • Looking at the gps track on Strava, I must say it is awesome, considering how wooded the area is
More or less it is spot on to the dotted lines, which I presume are bike paths(?)
Let's hope that it remains as consistent

Yes, we rode mainly on narrow trails in the forest. given the conditions I'm pretty satisfied with the accuracy of the track.

Data recording was set to "smart" and "GPS only" by the way.

I really wonder why it recorded heartrate. The setting for the wrist monitor was "Auto". Hope I don't have to turn the monitor off manually (you can only do that in the main settings menu) every time I put the watch on the handlebars.

Hope you all get your wacthes soon!
  • I would imagine that it's like other Garmins that have built in HRM and it will be active in an activity unless and external monitor is detected or it is set to off it is set to off prior to starting.
  • r-r acquisition

    Hi,

someone can confirm r-r acquisition compatibility (via chest strap)

    Thank in advance,

    Alessandro
  • As long as the strap you're using supports it (and I can't think of any that don't) the watch will support it.
  • Clever Training US

Curious if anyone has received a 5X ordered through Clever Training US? I ordered mine through them on January 14, and am wondering if those who ordered Jan 7-14 have started to receive theirs yet?
