Just like an aggravating, but anxious kid.

I was happy with my 405, then the 410, then maybe 605, 610, F2, now F3. F3 works for the most part. Its crashed on me. Its locked up on me. But I still like it. It does much more than I need, but I can live with that. the 5x does even more than I need. But I dont know if I'd like maps or not. But I do like the idea of more memory and faster processor. That spells future proof usually. I might not like mapping. Ok. so I may not use it. I might not like the OHRM, though I hope it works. If not. So be it. I really really hope it wont lock up during my next 50miler, 100k or 100miler. That really blows. It blows that I cant charge it while its on my wrist. But eh... I can hold it while charging, or faster it to my pack. Ultras are hard, holding a while during recharge. Cake. I'm excited. I'm prepping my F3 for resale, hoping to reduce the chunk the F5x is setting me back. But my preorder is in.

Peace!

I've got a tracking number for my 5X from Cotswolds Outdoors so fingers crossed it turns up in the morning! Can't wait
  • I assume your order was from the 15th of January?
  • Here's a link to my first MTB ride with the 5x. It was a night ride with helmet lamp, so pretty easy going...

Thanks for posting that. I turned on the satellite view but couldn't see a path. Maybe there wasn't one. Can you tell how accurately it tracked? That's going to be a popular topic, obviously.

It certainly looks plenty good right out of the box and most of the ride was at low speeds on difficult Terrain
  • The tracking looks average but the heart rate graph doesn't look right at all.

Ya, Zone 1 for MTB is in my experience atleast, not possible lol. Maybe he was wearing it loose? I would guess if it was on his handle bars it just wouldn't read anything at all but I dont know.

Has anyone found a dealer in Canada that has them? All I see is gpscity and gpscentral and they both still say mid April.

Maybe he/she didnt set the Zone 1-5 correctly with numbers?

You have to log into Strava to see all these numbers for the HR. Didnt know.

Nah, the whole HR graph is wonky. It'll spike up to what I assume is his real HR, then drop back down to the low 80's quickly (like it's losing a real signal). I'm guessing the watch wasn't tight enough around the wrist.
  • I've got a 5X on order but my biggest worry is it will be too heavy to run with AND get good HR data. Big heavy watches bounce a lot and HR may not work. I've found my vivoactive hr works amazing because it's so light....5x may be painful to wear because you will need to cinch that band really tight!
