I think it will be good to have one central place to have the latest news people here about the updated release date. DCR said it looks like early March. The garmin site says 5-8 weeks but thats the default time on all new products. Everywhere I read it says "By end of Q1" which is the end of March. Rei still doesnt have it listed yet either. Has anyone heard anything more specific?
I have to wear it a notch tigher than I would with the FR235 because it's so top heavy. Size wise, It's not all that much bigger than the 235 at all. It's an absolutely beautiful device.
I'll take it for a long run tomorrow and post back.
Yes better wear it a notch higher because as you perspire, it gets slippery and the Fenix 5 being heavier will slip down your hand ....
Other than that plus a few irritating bugs here and there, the watch is a beauty and a gem ....
Hopefully the bugs will be fixed with an software upgrade ...

That yellow looks pretty good ;-) I'm not too bothered about QuickFit but I hope we get some "normal" alternative bands quickly, it's a 3' job with the proper screwdrivers. The "pins" are really thick though so I doubt there's already a 22mm band out there that could be used.
The QuickFit system is awesome. But yes, hopefully some better bands come out. I did order a QuickFit leather band for it. The prices Garmin have set on them are outrageous.

This is the place where I ordered from after cancelling my B&H order.. They have 6 in stock right now and I just looked, you can pay with PayPal..
Mine was ordered Thursday, shipped Friday and is scheduled for delivery tomorrow (Monday)

Yes QuickFit is smart but if a third party can offer a band for $10 like they do for the FR235/FR735, etc...I'll be fine with using a screwdriver! Especially since third parties might not make QuickFit systems that are as "robust"...

I see that I can get it in RFI but they charge tax and for the 5 Sapphire its 740$.
If someone knows other store that have this model in stock I will love to hear.
