I think it will be good to have one central place to have the latest news people here about the updated release date. DCR said it looks like early March. The garmin site says 5-8 weeks but thats the default time on all new products. Everywhere I read it says "By end of Q1" which is the end of March. Rei still doesnt have it listed yet either. Has anyone heard anything more specific?
My local retailer says April 21 Th for the 5 and 5S version. No known shipping date for the 5X version. The Amazon date of February 21 Th is perhaps meant to be April 21 Th instead?:confused:
Local retailers here are saying April for the second wave of watches. However, they are probably working from the original information from Garmin on delivery times, so it is probably incorrect. The retailer I have ordered from (Johnny Appleseed) are still saying March, but having spoken to them yesterday, they really have no idea when the first batch will land. That is a bummer, as I was forced to return my Vivoactive HR due to a screen fault, so I currently don't have a Garmin device.
One local retailer said that they are expecting some stock in early March, but Garmin has a history of poor stock during release and only a small number of limited models will be available. He believes full stock of all models will not be available until late May.
Interesting, thanks for the link. The 5s really is smallish isn't it and the 5 looks very close to the pretty ideally (for me) sized FR235/FR735 event though it's officially 47mm vs 45mm, now of course it's a lot thicker...
