Still waiting on a black 5S Sapphire, not a single 5S Sapphire has been released to the USA yet. It seems the UK and Australia just a small number last week, hopefully this week shows some movement. I've had it on order with Clever Training since the first week in January and its getting frustrating, sorry just venting.
Just chatted with REI online and this is what they said:
"As you know, we're still awaiting inventory from Garmin to fulfill your order. We anticipate shipping this order as soon as April 17, 2017 with an expected delivery date of April 20, 2017. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Of course, these are only estimated dates as it depends mainly on the manufacturer delivering its goods to us. Is there anything else I can assist you with today? "
Guess I can't say I'm surprised!
To be honest I don't think any of these companies, even the big ones like REI, Amazon and Clever Training have a clue what they are getting and when. I find it unlikely that they "know" that shipment of 5S Sapphire models is coming on April 17, the reality has seemed that some small number of Fenix 5 "series" (of all types, except our 5S Sapphires) have arrived each week since mid-March. I think its likely some more will arrive this week, and even more next and so on... I'm hoping we might see the first sign of the 5S Sapphire this week in the USA if only because it finally appeared in retail in the UK and Australia but who knows.
Very frustrating trying to keep my patience, it would be easier for me if I currently was using a Garmin watch but after years and years of Garmin watches (305 was my first with tons after) I foolishly decided to join the Fitbit train a little over a year ago with the Fitbit Surge watch (and also their bands) and I've been unhappy since but have been waiting for the new Fenix to switch back. It's just so unusual in technology (except for Garmin) to announce a version of an existing product that 3.5 months later isn't shipping and may not for some time to come, CES is important but come on, this big of a lag had to hurt some Fenix 3 sales as well as frustrate customers.
