I think it will be good to have one central place to have the latest news people here about the updated release date. DCR said it looks like early March. The garmin site says 5-8 weeks but thats the default time on all new products. Everywhere I read it says "By end of Q1" which is the end of March. Rei still doesnt have it listed yet either. Has anyone heard anything more specific?
Oh I know they are legit.. What I meant was if them having the one in stock was legit or a snafu / glitch..
Last time I pre-ordered from REI, when I saw people were starting to get the device, I called my local store, and as luck would have it, they were literally in the process of unloading a truck that had two of that device on it. (only 2!). I asked to have one set aside for me, and drove on over, got the device, and when I got home, canceled my pre-order (that was scheduled to ship in 10 days, IIRC). Maybe they just send out a couple to some stores to check on the interest level, before they send out a larger quantity?

I am thinking the stock level might have been legit but won't know for sure until tomorrow. The reason I think it was is because it showed as one in stock ( I refreshed the page like 5 times) and then after I ordered it I went back to the product page and it had changed to preorder only.
I'm hoping it was a legit stock level and if it was, I'll have it in my grubby paws on Tuesday... :cool: :D

Why is this creepy? Well I do not have my Facbook account connected to their website or ordering system. As a matter of fact, I checked out as a guest...
noticed over the last few days, quite a few new websites in the uk are now taking preorders,
evans cycles & tredz, now have them listed and saying available 22 march,
has been on cotswold & clever training for a while but now cotswold has a couple more color options for both the 5 & 5s
Even if they knew they were getting 15 of each model, there is no logic in telling you that as they don't know if you are going to get one and it will likely just lead to disappointment / recriminations / negative reviews down the line. Added to which, many of the people you speak to are probably just looking at the stock levels that are reported on the website, they have no more info than you or I.
Will be interesting to see if the likes of Amazon beat Cotswold to the punch.

No dice... Order through HRM.com cancelled as not in stock.. Bummer! Guess their site glitched out or added stock inadvertently.. Oh well, back on track for the 5 sapphire...
