Will F5 support unicode notification?

Just saw the announcement about F5, looks great!
I am a happy F3 owner, but the only downside of F3 is lacking support of notification in Chinese (probably bunch of other languages as well). Does anyone know if F5 will cover this?

And, is Fenix 5S really for women. I am male but kind of liking it :-)
  • DCRaimker said that the F5 series will support right to left languages and there might've been a reference to emoji type characters but I don't recall a specific mention of Chinese characters.

However if the reasoning for skipping "4" in the model number is true they're obviously thinking about the Chinese language in some form.

Haha. The 5S is 42mm circular, which is the same 42mm as the largest Apple Watch is in its longest dimension, so I would think that many men would be happy with the 5S. :)
  • I would be happy with the 5S. I'm a guy, but just 5ft 6in with small wrists. I'm currently wearing an F3 and it's a bit too big.
  • Yea, I'm 6' tall but small wrists so the 5S is appealing to me. I like my F3 but fit is what keeps me from loving it.

I read somewhere that if you buy from China you can get Chinese language support as well.

It's better be supporting other language, at least allow user to add addtional languages. Hope someone from Garmin can confirm it soon. :)

I knew, but I don't live in China and don't want to use chinese version either. That's the point of my question atcually.

Just read the review writen by Samuel (link). It said that "built-in memory was upgraded from 32 MB to 12 GB". It sounds reasonable that Garmin want to promote Connect IQ ecosystem and having a larger memory is the logic step. But who knows if it allows to handle other languages well...
  • The 12gb seems to be about the 5x (not the 5/5s) due to the maps. (they can take a bunch of space!)

From the CIQ side, all 3 watches look similar to the Fenix Chronos - CIQ 2.x.x and more memory for watch-apps and Df's (the 5s,5,and 5x were added as new targets in the SDK that came out when the new watches were announced) The 5x does have more memory available for CIQ apps than the 5 and 5s though. on the 5, a watch-app can be 122k, while on a 5x, it can be up to 1274k, for example.

I like the 5S' smaller size and design, but want the 14-day battery life. The 5 should end up to my choice.
