Review Garmin Fenix 5

Hey guys,
Yesterday I received an email from Garmin announcing the new Fenix 5. This is really a hot news! What do you think about the latest multisport GPS watch of Garmin? Would you choose it or stay with Fenix 3HR?

I'd buy a 5X in a heartbeat if the mobile app gets back the option (that it used to have) to switch off the uploading of activitiies and activity tracking data.

My garmin fenix 3 has battery 5 days in watch mode without bluetooth or gps.
The accuracy has been acceptable but not excellent compared to my 310xt and other garmin.
Those 2 things are the ones that interest me to improve garmin 5.

The only references I've seen to release (or even availability to order) so far have said Q1/17. Where did your 5-8 weeks come from?

Battery

@MiguelBfenix3: For smartwatch mode, Fenix 3HR and Fenix 5 are both stated to last up to 2 weeks. Fenix 5 is just better than the Fenix 3HR in GPS training mode (24 hours compared to 16 hours).

Thanks, the UK (and other country) Garmin websites are just showing Q1 at the moment. I wonder if this means a US launch first?

Will most likely get the 5x as I travel a lot and getting a 5k or 10K "ready to run" map in a few minutes on watch is a great feature. ...will be selling the f3hr though. It has/will serve me well... slti goes bonkers now and then but otherwise OK and a good watch.

Couple of things you might want to correct or clarify; the 5 and 5S have 64Mb of memory, where your article could be read to mean either they still have 32M or have 12Gb, which is only the case for the 5X. And the 5 and 5S sapphire variants are $699; $849 is for both metal and silicone straps.
