Past experience with REI and Garmin devices, it might take then a few days after an announcement for them to start taking pre-orders.
But here's a secret (don't tell anyone! :) ). When you think shipping will start, and if you have a local REI, call the store and see if they have one. (last time I tried this they were literally unloading the truck and the paperwork showed they were getting 2 of that device). If they have one, ask them to hold it for you. I ended up getting the watch about 2 weeks before my expected shipping date, and canceled the pre-order!
I'll be moving from a Vivoactive HR and I am leaning towards a Fenix 5 Slate Gray with Metal Band and possibly an additional leather band. This variant is not available to preorder from anywhere in the UK yet unfortunately.
Now seriously, someone will buy Fenix 5? Lol :confused:
I'll probably buy it, but only once months have passed and prices have gone down. And of course, that will also give me some time to find out whether it's reliable or not. Garmin devices tend to be hit or miss so I never pre-order or buy during the first stages of a device's lifecycle.
I preordered the 5 sapphire from Clever Training.. I'll keep my fenix 3 HR until I am certain that I am keeping the 5... Clever Training has a 60-day return policy so there really in nothing to loose...
I assume the 5 will be fine and then my 3 HR will go to my son...
