The new fenix 5X

Just thought I'd get in first...

I was bummed with the 3HR needed a new charge cable over the 3, but understood it. Now I'm wondering if the 3HR's charge cable will work with a 5X or if it's new yet again. Anyone know?

Yes, the 5 series of watches require yet another, different, charging cable.

Extra storage in 5X?

Just wandering...
Can I delete the maps provided with 5X (as I'm not too keen using them) and use the extra storage for FIT files / Connect IQ Apps? If not I'm definitely going for plain 5 with Sapphire Glass...

Of course, you can delete pre installed maps, that you don't need/use. But the 5x has got so much memory, that this is not necessary...You can't add so much apps/fit files, that the memory of the 5x is to small for this

I assume this is not usable during an activity (to recharge the Fenix during an ultra trail for example) ? The F3 can do it !!

I was also scratching my head at this.
It is true that I do max 42K runs so no need for charge on the go... but why deviate from a great design (the cradle)?
If someone develops a OEM un-official cradle solution for this watch...they will make a nice sum.

I had pre-ordered fenix 3 when it was first announced, but the delivery date was being constantly pushed back so i cancelled my pre-order when the delay reached about 3 months and bought a 920xt.
I am very happy with 920xt but would really like mapping as well as the new features of fenix 5x. My biggest worry is the weight, 5x being significantly heavier then 920xt. Does anyone here have experience running with such a heavy watch?
