The 5X is 1.5mm thicker than the F3HR, or 0.5mm thicker than the Fenix 2. So that's pretty t5hick. When I owned the Fenix 2, wearing it day-to-day was annoying (to me)..
Between those who returned F3's due to gps issues and those that returned them due to alti-baro issues, I bet there's a number of us (I returned multiple F3's) that would love to go back to the Fenix line, but not until Garmin can improve accuracy. I intend to pre-order with REI asap and compare against my current watch (Ambit 3 Peak).

Your paying a good bit of money for the maps themselves as in a world of free maps Garmin is still quite costly lands & sea
