A question for regular runners with Fenix 5X plus (vo2max)

I haven't gotten any updates on Vo2Max for a few months.
Sometimes in the training status I see the high arrow but the value is the same. Other times I see the low arrow but the value is always the same. It's as if Vo2Max changes regularly but the number doesn't move.

I would like to understand if this problem is with the latest firmware (19.30). I use the Garmin HRM-Dual for greater precision.

  • On my side, I have the Fenix 5 Plus 19.30 and the HRM RUN (the red one). I had a significant drop of my VO2Max this summer (- 5 points), and it's not getting up as fast as previous years, even if I train pretty hard for my next race since end of august... I don't use the HRM RUN all the time anymore though, because it's hurting me when associated with the trail backpack... Maybe the mix of HRM and internal sensor is not properly managed ?

Do you use your HRM all the time ?

  • it seems that few of us practice running with the "5 plus" series

After my message I tried running with two watches at the same time and HRM connected to both.

I got a drop with the other watch (-1) while the 5x plus always gave me the same vo2max value!

At this point I don't know what to think!
I will try to run without HRM with the 5x plus to see if I solve the vo2max problem, but I don't understand what this error is due to!

Furthermore, I also had a -5 drop before the summer, although my fitness did not change.
The problems with vo2max started when they classified these watches as "partially compatible"
I will do one last test with a Polar watch that calculates vo2max and I will be able to understand if Garmin's calculation is wrong.
