Fenix 5x Plus problem (resolved)

Hi all, I had a problem after updating my Feniz 5x plus to firmware 19.10. I state that before the clock worked perfectly. Since I updated via Garmin Express I have a problem with calculating steps and monitoring heart rate. In practice they no longer work, not even the green lights of the sensor light up. The rest works perfectly! What could have happened? can a downgrade fix it?

Have you checked that the wrist HRM has not become disabled in the settings? And same for activity monitoring?

I am sorry there is an issue. There are two steps you can try. I have had both of them work over the years when there are any sensor related issues. I hope they steps will work for your watch.

Please try the following:

Soft Reset: Hold down your top left power button until your watch shuts off then let go of the button.

Reset to Default: How to Reset Default Settings on My Garmin Outdoor Watch

Hello, thanks for the reply, I have already tried both with soft reset and with hard reset but the problem remains. Can I try manually reloading the 19.10 firmware? Where can I find it? Thank you

There will be a new software update coming as soon as possible. I am sorry, there is no prior software versions archive.

Thanks for the reply. I still find it absurd that a €700 watch stops working after an update. I have had several garmin watches, but never so many problems after a firmware update (therefore not attributable to incorrect use). I hope there will be an update soon that will solve the problems! I had to reuse a 50€ amazfit watch for step counting and heart monitor. Absurd!

I wanted to let you know that I managed to solve the problem by opening the watch from the display side and reconnecting the heart sensor connector which was probably slightly disconnected.
