Fenix 5+ saphire powering down constantly

I have been having an issue with my watch powering down randomly. This issue has gone from once in a while to multiple times daily in the last 2 months. I have gone through all of the support forums several times. 

I currently cannot get the watch to even turn on, it was at 85% battery this morning. This was the last time I got it to restart. On this restart it showed information info from last evening for about 15 seconds then shut off again.

  • The battery does not go down, the watch just shuts down. I did an update on Thursday once I got restarted. Fully charged it has shut down 2 times since. I am at 85% battery, used 15% in 55 hours. I don't think its a battery problem. Tech support said the update would fix the problem because I was behinhd on map updates.

  • I have seen this happen before. But then the reason was a wrong/faulty firmware installation. Have you tried to reset the watch an re-apply the firmware?

  • I am experiencing the same issues with  fenix 5 plus for a while now. Tried both Soft and Hard resets, which helps only temporarily for a day or two, depending on activities. My watch powers off and enters reboot loop if I try to connect it to the PC. Very annoying

  • What FW / GPS / Wi-Fi CIQ/ ANT/BLE  etc. version are you running?

    What bluetooth devices have you connected to the watch? what watch-faces have you installed?

    My software version 18.00 (61a9197). I used to use Titanium watch face by Garmin and SHN Feinix 6 style by SHN, and DashFit data field but these persists even if I do not install any watchfaces/datafields after hard reset. With regards to bluetooth, only iphone.

    My versions are:

    GPS: 2.70, Wi-Fi: 2.50
    CIQ: 3.2.8
    WHR: 20.03.32
    ANT/BLE/BT: 6.15
    Sensor Hub: 2.41

    And I am only using the Quatro wath-face. No Wifi-setup only Bluetooth. 

    Bluetooth connections Iphone and Apple Powerbeats Pro.

    Works like a charm - not battery problems at all. 

    Settings: Light is off unless a tick on the light-button.

  • I am sorry there is an issue. The specific type of issue your Fenix 5 Plus series watch is experiencing is almost always only resolved through exchanging your watch but it is always a good idea to work through the troubleshooting article.
