Software update: battery capacity highly reduced

Hello everyone,

I am facing an issue with the battery capacity of my Garmin Fenix 5 Plus for the last software update 17.30.

I must charge it every single day now.

Is this issue already identified and a solution has been found?

  • I am sorry your battery is quickly draining. There are 3 steps that can be tried. Any of the steps may resolve the issue.

    Please try the following:

    - Power your watch off then back on again

    - Hard Reset: Hold down your top left power button until your watch shuts off then let go once off

    - Factory Master Reset: How to Reset My Garmin Outdoor Watch

    If you continue to have the same issue, contact Outdoor Product Support in your region.

    I powered the watch off and it seems the issue is now solved.

  • It's annoying that the same issues keep occurring version after version.  High battery use after upgrade, and Do Not Disturb During Sleep failing to work after an upgrade have both been happening for years.  Both have easy fixes  (reboot for the first, toggle off and back on for the second), but it's annoying - especially given the upgrades occur automatically so you can miss the fact that one happened until after these bugs bite!
