Heart Sensor stopped working

My Garmin 5X plus heart rate sensor is not working at all. Even the green light which should be turned on for the heart sensor, remains always turned off. My software version is 17.30. The sensor hub version is 2.40. Even the foot step counter is not working. Please help!

Hi, I had the same problem. I also tried the various resets proposed by the site admin but I never solved it. So I plucked up my courage and took the watch apart. I removed the 5 screws from the display…

Hello, when you remove the 5 screws that block the display, lift the screen slightly. It's practically the only connector you see, it forms a U if I remember correctly.

I send email to the support center and no body answer me so what can I do now ????

They answered me, ask me to reset the watch but that did not fix the issue. I do not think we can do much

They want you to throw the old one and take the new Unfortunately

Which reset did you do? The long-press of the Light button, or the Master Reset? If you did not try the master reset, do it. See the instructions for the master reset for example here: https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-5-series/128985/hard-reset)

If that does not help, look up an older version of the firmware and install it. Beta versions are being published here, so either you find it in one of the beta threads, or you can ask other users. Make sure to get a package that contains also all the supplementary firmware files, especially the sensor hub. Possibly the one on your watch is corrupted, and needs to be replaced. Never mind if you find just an old version. If it helps, and the HRM starts to work, you can then upgrade the firmware to the current version.

If it does not help, then it is very likely a hardware failure, and the only thing you can do is asking Garmin for a quote for a repair or a replacement.

I did do the master reset, it did not fix the issue. Can you please point me to an older version of the firmware and sensor hub?

In fact it looks like there are no beta versions for the F5+, just for the F5. You'll have to ask Garmin Support to send you an older firmware, including the sensor hub file.

Same here, my 5x plus HR sensor has just stopped working, no light, also Bluetooth no longer work and it no longer tracks steps, GPS still works

Hi, I had the same problem. I also tried the various resets proposed by the site admin but I never solved it. So I plucked up my courage and took the watch apart. I removed the 5 screws from the display side and lifting it slightly I noticed that the heart sensor connector was slightly disconnected. I reconnected it and the sensor restarted. I hope I was helpful!

May I ask how did you identify the HR sensor connector?

After many resets, they don’t seem to be doing anything and decided to try and check the hardware
