Fenix 5x Plus APAC FirmwareUpdate? (Official Site last update Dec 2020)

I'm on Firmware 15.40 and yet the official website for APAC shows that it is version 13.1 and last updated Dec 2020 (this is 1 year ago)

The normal ROW firmware however is updated Dec 2021

I'm seeing battery drain of 20% per day and this is definitely not the normal that I experienced on prior firmwares.

Where can I find updated info about the latest APAC firmware or has it now merged with ROW versions?

I have an APAC Fenix5 X Plus and get continual pushed updates when connecting to Express. Latest updates are deposited silently without any permission, notification or even inclusion in the proposed update list if I query it. I check this every connection, for example just found a fresh 17.3 gcd lurking in the Garmin folder which I've taken out for a few weeks in case I accidentally allow the update on startup before it's generally accepted as stable.

May I know in which folder did you see it? I search thru all the folders in GARMIN and didn't see anything resembling to a GCD file

If you get an update it's dropped into the folder "Garmin" (not a subfolder) with file name "gupdate.gcd". Recent versions vary from around 10,044 to 10,075KB in size and the files create date is a good clue.

On the next start up (e.g when you disconnect from USB) and depending on your Settings-System-Software Update- Auto Update - on or off, the device will either automatically install it and you will see this happening or it will prompt you to install it.

If you are not seeing any of the above your not getting it.

Are you using Garmin's Express application, with the device added, physically connected, and seen by Express?

If you are really desperate and as a workaround you could install version 17.10 which still available at the moment from the beta site here: Garmin: fenix 5X Plus Updates & Downloads Simply copy the included gupdate.gcd into the Garmin folder yourself.

While its referred to as a "Beta" and the site states the releases are not applicable to APAC devices it is the same 17.10 that went to general release and was pushed to me and what I am currently running now. I did a binary file comparison of both files and they were identical. I'd like to say so it's safe but at the end of the day it's Garmin software...and has already been updated for at least one bug.
