I have been struggling to charge my fenix 5s watch on a number of occasions and now it won't charge at all.

I agree that the current cable is not the best, the one of a Fenix 3 was far better. Nevertheless it works and when the connector is loose, it helps to compress it a bit in the middle with pliers.

Its been like this for twelve months. We constantly have to clean the contacts.
I agree that the current cable is not the best, the one of a Fenix 3 was far better. Nevertheless it works and when the connector is loose, it helps to compress it a bit in the middle with pliers.
When it comes to the contacts on the watch, they look like new on mine afterr 2,5 years. I rinse the watch after every sweaty activity and I do not use those silicone caps, because this can preserve humidity and forster corrosion.

I had the same problem, but could solve it by attaching the cable to a laptop or powerbank instead of a charger.
