Hello everyone,I got the Fenix 5x plus about a month ago and have been trying to learn the features.It is difficult to achieve the results I am looking for. Yesterday I downloaded a route via Garmin express and loaded it onto my garmin to go to a new MTB park I had never been to before. I parked at where my phone GPS said to park, it was called MTB parking #1. I start the activity MTB, find the course I downloaded then push start . I don't know if I am hoping for a miracle here or just doing something wrong but all I get is the map with no guidance of how to get to the start of the course. I have turn by turn navigation on. So I just start riding on the first trail I see and it is about 3.5 miles from where I guess I am supposed to be to do the course on the watch. On the map I can see if the miles are counting down or up to get closer to the start area so I am meandering through the woods trying different trails to get me closer to the start area. there is no help from the Garmin watch at all, after about an hour I give up and try to head back to where my car was parked(selecting back to start or whatever) again no help from the garmin so i try to follow the red line the map was creating back to the car. I seemed to be getting more lost after a while so I pull out my phone and pull up my MTB project app and locate kind of where i am and make my way back for a while till I see an actual road, go off the path to the road and then turn on my regular phone gps and find that I am a mile from the car so I proceed with the ride of shame back to the car. All in all i did about 9 miles of frustration,never got to the course I intended on riding and ended up needing 2 more navigation things to even get me back to the car. If you want to shame me there is no need,Believe me I am embarrased enough but if you want to help me figure out what the heck I am doing wrong I would truly appreciate it. Or am I expecting too much from this very expensive gps watch by expecting it to get me to the courses I download and help navigate me through it and back to start where I parked the car? Also I kind of assumed because it is a garmin,I could just show up to a MTB park, go to the around me feature and there would be courses or at least maps of the parks to follow. That has not been the case.
