  • First, thank you for the continued work on the 5Plus line.

Second, when my watch rebooted to install the new firmware it got stuck in an infinite boot loop and wiped all my data. For anyone else who might also run in to the infinite loop issue:

Wait until the triangle icon shows on screen, then hold down the start & back buttons. At the sound of the first beep release only the start button. At the second beep, release the back button. Then be PATIENT. It may take quite a few minutes for the watch to load after this, but it will load.

  • Made improvements and bug fixes for Explore

Just did a test and where the fenix 5 plus was very slow to sync, didn't show the course correctly and got a faulty fit file earlier this week (testing together with the 19.74 beta of the fenix 6x pro to send a newly created crouse during activity and start navigation on it), Today after installing this 16.72 beta my 5 plus synced much faster and the watch worked like expected (-:

I still want to do some more test, but it seems to work very nicely, now I hope on some improvements in the Explore app on my android phone (create tracks that follow roads, use the same maps as on the watch and register as navigation app)

  • It seems that audio playback control has been broken. Volume controls are fine, but when pressing pause it will pause and immediately un-pause (change in states can be seen by looking at controls on watch screen), and the same is true for the opposite as well.

  • Former Member Thank you for your report.  We'd like to know more about the boot loop you describe.  Our testing did not reveal a boot loop and so it's likely unique to a file on your watch.  Can you please plug your watch into your computer, navigate to the \Garmin\Debug folder, and email us the err_log and RAM files in the \Debug folder to the outdoorquality.test email address?  We can then look into this boot loop closer.

  • I have the exact same problem. It's been working flawlessly for a couple of years with my Jabra Elite Active 75t but now I can't pause the music.
Skipping forward and backwards, adjusting volume and starting playback works fine.

  • Since updating, garmin pay no longer works.  I keep getting an error message "not connected to garmin pay, please restart your device and try again.  If this problem continues, please contact product support."

  • just replied to your email on this topic.  I look forward to hearing from you.

  • thanks for the note.  Are you using a downloaded music player (Spotify, Deezer, Amazon Music) or are you playing music loaded via Garmin Express?

  • Which music player are you using for music?

  • I sent those files over just a minute or two ago. Thanks for your involvement.
