Watch and phone won't stay paired

Hello! I have a One Plus 9 Pro. A couple of months ago my watch and phone started constantly asking to be paired. I get a notification on my phone to enter the number on my watch, my watch is constantly cycling through the pair codes.

I've tried deleting the device, the app, turning Bluetooth off then back on. Nothing works. It makes me just not want to use it!

  • If your watch is being asked repeatedly to Bluetooth re-pair and the Bluetooth code keeps appearing on your watch, resetting your watch will sometimes resolve it.

    Please try the following:

    - Hard Reset: Hold down your top left power button until your watch shuts off then let go once off

    - Factory Master Reset:   How to Reset My Garmin Outdoor Watch

  • I tried both of these fixes and neither has worked. My watch will go sometimes a whole week without doing this. And then do it for a day straight. The only fix I can find is just putting in the code and doing it every single time. There has to be a better way why did I spend $500 on a watch that causes me more trouble than not?

  • Hello! I am sorry that you are going through this too. Last month, it got to bothering me so bad that I called Garmin. This is covered under the warranty, however, we possibly found a temporary fix.

I used my charging cable to connect my watch to the Garmin Express app on my laptop. From there I was able to update the firmware on my watch. This helped for a few weeks, but returned again on Christmas day. I called in again yesterday and was asked to

****This will erase data from watch, so be sure to "sync" to either app or computer prior****

    1. remove the device fully from my phone. This means to remove it from Garmin Connect and your "previously paired devices" in your Bluetooth settings. If its not showing up in either, that is fine.

    2. Perform a factory reset on watch --> Hold (simultaneously) the top right button, bottom right button, bottom left, then while still holding push down the top left button. Hold it until you see the screen go dark, then only let go of the top left button. When you hear the first beep, then let go of ONLY the top right button. When you hear the 2nd beep, let go of all buttons.

    3. Once your watch is back up go to your devices menu in Garmin Connect and follow connection steps.

Fingers crossed this is a fix... only time will tell.

I will say as well, Garmin's customer service has been great. If you continue to experience the issue, I would call.

    Good luck! :-)
