Full Memory on Garmin 5x Plus

Hi there

How do I free up space on my Garmin5x plus? I want to add music and do the map update , but cant do it as it says memory is full.

Can you assist?

    We highly recommend not to delete anything on your watch. You must be incredibly careful and you risk ruining your watch and voiding your warranty if you delete the wrong items internally.

    If you continue, you will either need to use a Window PC or an Apple Mac but have a 3rd party APP installed so the Mac will read an MTP device.

    You would need to find out why your memory is full. Did you add additional mapping or too much music in the past? etc. To then know what to delete.

    Hi Chris

    No, i Dont have many apps. When I check the space the "Other" says 12gb . I just dont know that the "Other" is. Is there a way to check it?

    I only have 2gb of music

    Impossible to say what your computer would call "Other". Go through every single folder on your watch and any file the ends in .BAK or .TMP can be deleted. If using a Mac, be sure to empty your trash before you eject your watch.

    Hi Chris, it was all the maps taking up the space. So I deleted them , hoping I can re install them on Garmin Express, but now some maps are missing. It is only showing big road, and none of the smaller maps in my area. Can I somehow get them back?

    Please use Garmin Express on your computer. It will install what is currently available. Without knowing more about your watch, it is unknown what maps you will get back on your watch. If you do not receive all your maps back that you had on your watch, since you deleted them, there is no guarantee you will be able to receive them back. You can reach out to your region's Product Support to see if you can exchange your watch but there may be cost involved since you deleted the maps.
