No UK maps on second hand Fenix 5 Plus

I just got a second hand fenix 5 plus from eBay. Everything seems ok, apart from the map isn't showing my location.

Within Garmin Express I see this

However if I goto Map settings the configure maps on the device I just see:

Worldwide DEM Basemap, NR

TopoActive Americas North

TopoActive Americas Central

Can anyone tell me how I get the UK map onto the actual device?

Its looks like a US model (mine is too). Garmin will probably suggest that you must buy the UK maps. Luckily there are free Talkytoaster UK & Ireland topo maps available (google it) which are actually better than the garmin offering.

UK left Europe, but I was not aware that they joined the United States!

Hi Greg. The maps you listed showing on your watch strongly suggests it is a North America watch that ended up on Ebay in the UK.

The way you can 100% confirm what world's regional maps should be on it, is to install Garmin Express on your computer. The maps that Garmin Express offer you, are the maps that are licensed to that specific watch.

The Fenix watches are regional due to map licensing and in some cases like SE Asia, for the special language tile sets loaded on them software wise.

Thanks, I’ve got the talkytoaster maps on there now. If I send a route to the watch will I get turn notifications etc ?? Meant to do it last night as a test and forgot !!
