  • Thank you for the continued development efforts for the 5 Plus! Installed just now.

  • My 5+ continues to have big delay in the altimeter measure display and from 5 to 10% error.

  • Wash your watch - its possible the hole in the casing is blocked which can affect the pressure measurement.  My watch is 100% accurate.

  • Thanks for the continuous development... but isn't considered to include some new features in this top line of Garmin, according to new features added to below (but new) models like Forerunner 45/55? Thanks in advance. Regards.

  • Why introduce new features??  No-one would buy new watches then.  These new features will eventually end up in a newer Fenix model.  Garmin is a business not a fan-club.  The important thing is to ensure the watch performs correctly and provides the features in the specification.

  • I fully understand it, but then... why do they introduce new features in other lower (and older) versions of Forerunner? I only say that they could do the same with higher (and older) versions of fenix 5 series.

  • Of course they could but why???  These features need to be kept for future fenix models or else there will be nothing new for them.  they must be running out of ideas of what can be added to new models.  Garmin needs people to buy new models to survive.  Remember Nokia - they used to make phones that lasted 10 years, and then they ceased to exist.  The manufacturers that survived want you to buy a new phone each year.  My samsung galaxy s7 is capable of running the latest android version but samsung will not supply it.  I need to buy a new phone if I want the latest version.  There is no profit keeping people happy using their existing products.

  • My answer is the same... if that's the reason I fully understand but... why do they update with new features for Forerunner older series and not for fenix 5 series? It isn't logical. And I speak as consumer, not as a businessman.

  • Forerunner 45 is newer than Fenix 5 Plus. Moreover, Fenix watches are able to last many years so they need to tempt users with new functions in next gen models. This way not all of them will stick to their watches for so long.

  • Is there any prospect of the flaky backlight wrist gesture being fixed? My 6X is fine but my 5 Plus, which I wear through the day, is really inconsistent, Sometimes I have to wave my arm in a very exaggerated way to get the backlight on, it looks like I've got Tourette's.

I understand that the VA4 has a menu setting allowing the user to adjust the gesture sensitivity, that would be a good solution.
