F5+ loses GPS (no warning) and still feeds me (unreliable) data

While running my F5+ loses GPS without issuing any warning and keeps feeding me pace data (unreliable data).

In the attached activity you can see that around the 45 minutes mark gps goes blank and returns at the 1h15' mark.

In the missing 30 minutes I kept getting data on the pace. The data I was reading felt unreliable since I was expected to up my pace from 4'30"/km to 4'00"/km after 12km: you can see my hr bumped at that exact spot from 148 bpm to 156 bpm. The pace yet was unaffected.

The software is 15.40.

This is the second time it happens this week. In this other activity

it loses GPS around the 38' mark but still feeds me data until I save the activity 10 minutes after.

  • It's a hardware problem I believe.  It happened to me once on a fenix 3 but never repeated itself.  Restart your watch and keep your fingers crossed.  If it keeps happening then I would imagine it would need to be repaired.
