Latest Fenix 5 Plus maps

What is the latest version of maps for Fenix 5 Plus? Syncing with Garmin Express doesn't find any update and my maps are 2017.30 version.

    Yes, that also occurred to me. I find it difficult to believe that it hasn't occurred to Garmin. They are being extremely blinkered in their thinking. There is no need for there to be a problem at all for these watches, but Garmin is hell bent on creating one.

    I'm sure there's a reason why they won't offer older maps. Perhaps Garmin Express would break things if the watch contained a newer version than was offered as an upgrade (since some watches already have the newer version)?  It's futile (but fun) to speculate, but I'm personally quite sure there's a reason why things are as they are. What's happened is unfortunate, but Garmin people are not stupid.

    My sincere apologies for the valid frustrations after the 2021.10 TopoActive EU map ended up being too large and the back and forth of map availability as the issue continues to be worked on. Thank you everyone for your patience while the map is being worked on for a new release.

    You are a nice guy, and I really appreciate your keeping us updated on this forum.

    HOWEVER

    Your company has an awful attitude towards its customers: a respectful way to deal with this understandable issue would have been:

    1) Making immediately available the previous functioning version of the maps: why in the world aren't you doing such a simple thing??????

    2) Quickly finding a solution.

    Appears that TopoActive Europe map has been [re]released. Just updated the TopoActive Europe map on my f5+ to TopoActive Europe 2021.10 (from 2020.20). No problems so far..

    Confirmed. Offered and installed with GE this afternoon. File byte sizes on the 5X+ match the same maps on my 6X Pro Solar for European maps.

    Golf maps are very different sizes though. Odd!

    I can also conform that the maps are available in Garmin Express again. I reinstalled them and I think they load a bit faster now. Nevertheless the navigation still doesn't work properly. To my sports club it still selects a route along the main road, no madder if I choose "hiking" (6,2km) or "walking and running" (6,8km) as routing settings.Popularity routing is swithed off anyway because this delivers only routes along main roads although I live in the woods with lots of ways and tracks.
    Switching to an OSM map delivers 4,9km, which is the same distance as with the older Topo Active Maps. 

    So there is still something wrong and for me it is a miracle that Garmin is not able to correct those things.

    Firmware is now 15.40, the maps are still at Topoactive Europe NE 2021.11 and SW 2021.10.

    And after uploading maps and reconnecting to Garmin Express, it offers me a map update, even if the maps are already uploaded there! It offers an update as before and the update is already there!
