Emergency assistance restart

When emergency assistance is manually triggered on my fēnix 5s plus, it does a count down then says “sending” as it vibrates then the watch shuts down and restarts. No sms. No email. Nothing.

any ideas? Automatic uploads on. Using iOS

The plot thickens. Now my activities do not sync unless I plug in and use Garmin express. Error messages on Garmin express "invalid file" advice to manually remove from device (this has no effect). On Garmin connect steps and heart rate data is synced but not hte activity data. Error message is FileTransferError timeout.

Help! suddenly the watch I love is really annoying

There is good information on sync issues here, esp. point 5 a corrupt FIT file is a possible cause of not syncing activity data.

That’s brilliant thank you! I’m just getting to grips with the search features! Cleared off the corrupted file by borrowing a windows laptop. Still can’t work out the emergency assistance!
