Garmin fenix 5 plus batery/navigation

Hey guys..

i bought garmin fenix 5 plus and so far I am satisifed but there are some things I'm not fully satisfied.

First is the batery,it is spending way to fast.. without gps it last for 5-6 days and when I turn gps in 45 min it spended 9% of batery and lead me to some ways where there are no roads at all...i did the update and all..

Can someone help and tell me how to change my seetings so it would work properly. Thanks :D

  • Navigation drains battery a lot faster than other activities - due to vibrations, sounds, processing, route calculating and most of all always moving map on display. When it comes to routing - you need to choose what kind of routes you want. Even then, if the map is inaccurate, it can always lead you to strange places ;)

  • One thing to note about map drawing is that if you set the map to rotate based on your heading, it will consume more battery than if you set it so that north is up. The former requires the watch to constantly redraw the whole map display (when heading changes even a little), whereas with north-up the watch will only redraw the parts of the display which become visible when you move.

  • Thank you for your response :)

It says that in gps it should run for 19h but in this pace I dont think it will

  • That 19 hours is with an activity with  gps + wrist hr. It doesn't include navigation or map display.

  • Ou..ok..thanks :D

Do you know any other site where I can download faces for watch? Except the app from garmin

  • Watch out for data heavy faces - they also tend to drain battery a lot quicker :) Check reviews before downloading.
